Hello! Thank you for visiting my site, and taking the time to check me out, here is a bit about myself, and my site.
Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed baseball! I played many sports as a child, but baseball was by far my favorite, and the sport that I excelled at the most.
I grew up fairly poor, and never had good equipment (which was especially difficult during hockey season). I’ll always remember the time a certain mentor I had bought me a very nice glove, and honestly I treasured that thing for years to come. My hand grew out of the glove, but even then I still used it. Unfortunately I do not know where it went, but I suppose if I still had it is the one I would use to this day.
I played baseball for my Freshman year of high school. But, after that I stopped playing. Long story short, I had to work. Baseball memories from childhood are a cherished memory of mine. Sports are a major part of many peoples lives, and without equipment… Well… You can’t play.
The Next Babe Ruth
There’s something about having nice equipment that boosts confidence in the player. If you have a nice glove, some decent cleats, pair that with a nice bat, and people tend to think that they are the next Babe Ruth or (insert favorite ball player here).
The glove is definitely one of the most important parts of baseball. I believe that if someone enjoys the glove they use, that there is almost a certain amount of fulfillment that comes from that glove. I know it sounds weird, but if you can remember back to your childhood days (in whatever sport it was), you can remember your favorite equipment.
Who knows, a new glove can begin the era of the next Babe Ruth.
Bringing Joy To The Game
When I first received that glove, I was ecstatic. I could not wait to get out on the field to see how much better I got overnight. Obviously I did not get any better, but, pretty much everyone who gets something new (especially children), think that they will now excel.
Now that may not always be the case. But, if there’s one thing it will do, is it will boost confidence (which results in better performance), and it most importantly it will boost joy. Which in the end is the most important facet of playing in the first place – the “love of the game”.
I aim to bring joy to the game, and I believe the equipment needed for that game is one of the first steps in reigniting the passion for the game, and helping to fulfill that joy.
